Super-Duper Grannie!
I bought a really cool mobility scooter,
To wheelie and hand-brake turn, apace–
Going straight from nought to six mph,
In 70s flares dug out of an old suitcase.
Donned in suede waistcoat ‘n paisley shirt,
With blue-rinsed hair ‘n looking real cool–
Couldn’t care less whether in fashion,
Nor looking a deranged scatty old fool.
A battery powered kit designed for old gits,
Careering demonically on moby scooter–
Out and about surpassing all ‘n sundry,
Bish-bashing on my squeaky rubber tooter!
Downing shots of ‘free’ vodka ‘n tequila,
Manoeuvring thru’ Lidl; a shoplifting looter–
Headed outdoors on my kamikaze scooter,
A wild-eyed escapee, feeling super-duper!
Doing 0 to 6 a horse-powering tour-de-force,
Super-duper ‘n sloshed I was par excellence–
Handlebars gripped by tight wound fingers,
Zigzagging with an alarming overconfidence.
Then, bugger me, I fell off my moby scooter,
Performing reckless spins, wheelies ‘n dares–
The ambulance guys laughed heartily,
As a nurse cut me free from floral 70s flares.

MADS Committee, Chair Sheila Wardle, asks us to kindly publicise their next production:
'Holiday Snap'
Directed by Richard Pett

Synopsis:
Caig Grewcock plays the role of lead actor ‘Chitto' a bungling and myopic drunk responsible for overbooking a Portuguese time-share. He remains oblivious throughout that he double-booked the apartment to two couples, each on an adulterous week in the Algarve. The scenes in which the two couples resort to broken English as they mistake each other for Portuguese servants are gloriously silly. And just as the men are in danger of coming to blows, on stage arrives Dave Zeal as Henry’s two-timing pal Perky to bring an appropriately farcical end to proceedings.
